Blockchain Life 2026 Dubai: What to Watch Beyond the Main Stage

The December forum brings exchanges, infrastructure builders and financial institutions into the same room. The most useful conversations will be about how their systems work together.

Blockchain Life returns to Dubai on December 1 and 2, 2026. Its 17th edition is scheduled for Festival Arena in Dubai Festival City, alongside AI Future Forum. The public event page lists more than 15,000 expected attendees, over 200 sponsors and over 200 speakers. Separately, the organisers’ partner materials project 20,000 attendees and more than 250 sponsors. Both sets of figures are pre-event projections.

A speaker lineup that crosses industry boundaries

The organiser’s press release names Arthur Hayes of Maelstrom, Ben Zhou of Bybit, Sandeep Nailwal of Polygon and Mert Mumtaz of Helius. It also lists Tony Ashraf of BlackRock, Saeeda Jaffar of Circle and Rajat Sakhuja of Mastercard. Together, those names span capital allocation, exchanges, blockchain infrastructure and payments.

That mix is the strongest reason to follow the programme. Each group sees a different part of the same transaction. A blockchain team can explain how an asset moves. A payments company can explain how a customer funds the transaction. An institution can explain the approvals and operating controls it needs before adopting either system.

Where adoption shows up

The clearest sign of adoption is a workflow someone can explain from start to finish. For a tokenised asset, start with the buyer. Who can invest, and where do they find the asset? Who verifies eligibility, holds the asset and handles the cash leg? What happens when the investor wants to sell or redeem?

Those questions matter in Dubai as much as anywhere else. If a firm discusses providing virtual asset services in Dubai, VARA’s public register is a useful reference for checking the entity, its status and its authorised activities where applicable. For more on why distribution and exit matter, see our earlier analysis of tokenised markets in the sources below.

What the AI programme adds

AI Future Forum adds a second set of questions for anyone building payment or asset workflows. If an agent proposes a transfer, who authorises it? Where are spending limits enforced? What record is available if the transaction is challenged? A demonstration that shows the approval and exception paths tells you far more about how a system might operate in practice.

The week around the forum

The published side-event calendar runs from November 27 to December 6. It lists activities with different access rules, including paid and invitation-only events. For anyone planning meetings around the two main conference days, check the individual organiser’s listing for registration and access details.

What to watch

Open questions this piece does not answer. We will revisit them as evidence appears.

  1. 01Which teams can describe a live customer workflow and identify the firms responsible for onboarding, custody and settlement?
  2. 02Where can an AI system act on its own, and who can intervene before an irreversible payment?
  3. 03Which side events offer practical conversations with the people building and operating these systems?
